Premier League: Liverpool, Man City & Chelsea set for title finale

This year's title race is one of the most open in Premier League history, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea in a three-way tussle that may not be decided until the final day of the season.
Going into the Bank Holiday weekend, just three points separated the sides, and all three could have spent time at the top of the table between Saturday and Monday.
City went to the summit on goal difference after beating Everton on Saturday, but Chelsea missed the chance to overtake them as they were held by Norwich at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Race for the Premier League title

Mon 5 May: Crystal Palace (a)
Wed 7 May: Aston Villa (h)
Sun 11 May: Newcastle (h)

Liverpool would return to top spot with a win at Crystal Palace on Monday.
City and Liverpool have two games remaining, while Chelsea have just one fixture left.

Crystal Palace v Liverpool

"Monday's is a very difficult game for Liverpool, made even tougher because of the way Crystal Palace went at Manchester City last time out, and lost.
"Eagles boss Tony Pulis tried to take City on. I am guessing he will not commit as many men forward on Monday. It is one of the reasons I see this ending up a draw - with one caveat."
Chelsea are third, one point behind City and Liverpool. Their slim title hopes will disappear if Liverpool beat Palace.

If the Reds do triumph, City will again have the chance to go top on goal difference when they play their game in hand against Aston Villa on Wednesday.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini said he would not watch Liverpool's match at Selhurst Park and would, instead, be focusing on the game against Villa.

"I think it's very important for our team that we must not think that the Premier League is finished," said the Chilean after victory over Everton.

"We have to play two more games so it's very important now to start preparing for the game on Wednesday, and then we'll see next Sunday if we can win the title."

Points required to win the title

Liverpool Chelsea Man City
Six, although if Man City win their two matches, City will almost certainly take the title on goal difference.
Three, although if City or Liverpool win either of their remaining two games then Chelsea cannot win the title.
Six will almost certainly secure the title on goal difference regardless of other teams. They could win it with four points if Liverpool fail to win one of their games.
